Dieting Differences In Men and Women

Men and women alike both go through epic struggles to control their weight and maintain a slim and trim figure. Both will have unique challenges and will each deal with them in different ways. They do not differ in the fact that they both will find it more and more difficult to lose the fat the older they get.
Men are bigger as a rule and tend to have more muscle than women, this means that they generally have less fat. Men can usually eat more calories with less fat deposited on their bodies than women. When men begin to get fat it tends to go to the belly first while in women it goes to the hips and thighs. Either way both will need exercise and good eating habits to break the cycle of fat.
Men tend to eat larger meals and as a result they pack on calories at a faster rate. Most women eat smaller meals however they tend to have an overall slower metabolism and have a more difficult time losing the same amount of fat as men. Men however, have a higher risk of heart disease as a result of being overweight than women.
Since women have a higher fat content on their bodies than men they usually should adjust their diet plan accordingly. Women usually cook more in the home than men so the nibble factor is there and they generally get less everyday excersise such as walking, etc. Women that are dieting should try to focus on daily exercise in their everyday routine. Men, especially those that work in hands-on trades such as construction, automotive, and jobs that require a lot of walking will have an advantage over thier women counterparts.
Women would be better suited for pre-packaged diet plans than men. They will be more succesful with Weight Watchers, or Jenny Craig than men because it will be easier for them to stick with it. Men are more likely to stray away from these pland especially if they work away from home every day. Men can have better results with a low carb, low-fat diet plan even if they eat in restaurants by choosing more carefully from the menu. Stay at home moms can eat salads and tuna type dishes as access and preparation is more readily available in their own kitchens.
Whether you are a man or woman the key to losing the weight is eating smaller portions and getting at least some exercise every day. Men may have the dieting advantage from the start but women are generally more motivated.
